EAPC 2019 - Photography competition
Does a photo of hands holding hands truly portray modern palliative care? What image says palliative care to you? In the run up to the Berlin congress, the EAPC is seeking ‘New images of palliative care”. Modern technology means many of us carry a camera in our pockets, and we are asking you to take this opportunity to send in your image that you believe will help to change the conversation about palliative care.
The competition is now closed. Winners will be announced during the Closing Ceremony on Saturday, 25 May from 11:15 - 12:50.
EAPC 2019 - Palliative Slam
- science communication competition -
Could you inspire and educate a live audience about your work in Palliative Care – in just three minutes?
In order to find the most talented Palliative Care science communicators, participants will have three minutes to convince the audience with an exiting and engaging talk that can be understood by general public, using only the props you can carry on stage with you. Each presentation will be judged according to Content, Clarity and Charisma.
Send us your application and a short abstract (max 150 words) to email@example.com until 17th May 2019 and be part of the „Arts in Palliative Care“ Event on May 23rd.

DGP Events around #EAPC2019
„25 Years DGP“
This year, the German Association for Palliative Medicine (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Palliativmedizin, DGP) is having its 25th anniversary. It is now a quarter of a century since a small group of dedicated pioneers got around a table in the first palliative care unit in Cologne for the founding meeting of the association.
We will celebrate on the day before the EAPC World Congress in Berlin, on 22 May, with a big party. International guests will be very welcome to celebrate with us and warm up for #EAPC2019! (Party animals, please email Sabine Simon).
